GOD CALLED ME FOR

MINISTRY THROUGH

  MUSIC

In the state of Louisiana and in the city of New Orleans, one Tyronne Glenn Foster graced the world on April 15. He was born to the proud parents of the late Mr. Clem Lee and Mrs. Getrude Foster.

Tyronne’s spiritual journey began at Zion Travelers First Baptist Church. This is where his musical abilities began while singing in the youth choir. He was educated in the New Orleans Public School System and is a graduate of the Alcee Fortier Senior High School. While in high school, Tyronne was a faithful and dedicated member of the “Tarpon” band where he played trumpet. You can sometimes see his marching skills come out when directing. He furthered his education at Delgado Community College.

Tyronne’s musical ability and talents continued to develop when he joined the New Orleans Gospel Soul Children under the leadership of Mr. Albert Sylvester Hadly. This is where Tyronne sharpened his directing skills and realized God had anointed him to share his musical gifts and talents.

In 1988, Tyronne was asked to assist with the youth choir at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Upon entering the doors, he knew he had his work cut out for him, but he also knew that God placed him there for a reason. This is when he realized that God had placed a true calling upon his life. Tyronne’s love for music, directing and young people allowed him to develop the young voices and teach them songs with three-part harmonies. He also taught individuals to become lead vocalists. His musical style and intricacies allowed him to develop the St. Joan of Arc Gospel Choir so much so that many in the community were drawn to the music ministry opening the doors to what is now Tyronne G. Foster and the Arc Singers.

Tyronne G. Foster and the Arc Singers have been singing God’s praises for over 35 years, and they are still in demand. This choir can be found singing throughout the city of New Orleans, around these United States and have travelled to Europe to share their love for God.

While Tyronne is grateful for the path that prepared him for (now) Blessed Sacrament St. Joan of Arc Church and the music ministry, he gives all praise to God. For it is his love and trust in God’s word that sustains and strengthens Tyronne’s walk and ministry. His favoritescripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 [5] Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
